What is an underbust measurement?

Underbust is a torso circumference taken directly beneath the breast area. It is commonly used as an input for bra and undergarment sizing, but the raw number is not by itself a universal band size or cup size. The practical value is having a repeatable number you can use with one clearly defined sizing method or current brand chart.
